Headless ghost

“Attached is my picture i took at the Galleries Of Justice in Nottingham 2006. If you look to the right of the mannequin you will see what looks like a headless figure by the door. I would love to hear what you make of it….”

This has me mystified, but here are my thoughts. It looks like a suit of armour but there is a rounded shadow where the head should be. i like it, good photo.

  2. Alex Pryce Says:

Possibly a reflection on a varnished piece of wood.

  3. manigen Says:

Yep, it looks like a reflection from the same source reflected in the left hand side of the door.

  4. ZeroCorpse Says:

    Glare on the wood.

  5. Brandal Says:

    I can’t see it clearly.

  6. Laurie McLellan Says:

Now this is an absolute stretch as proof of a ghost. Imagination gone wild.

  7. Nadira Says:

I can see what lilladybird is saying… though I get the feeling that someone might have doctored the photo by messing with the transparancy of the “object”… My other theory is reflection of light.

  8. David Noonan Says:

Glare. It’s not even much of a figure, let alone a kid sized suit of armor.

  9. Linda Connolly Says:

Hi, I have been to the Galleries of Justice myself on investigations. Alot of strange things going on in there. I do however think that this particular anomoly, is nothing more than camera glare, reflected on the highly polished wooden surface.

  10. anonymous2 Says:

    It’s some kind of flash but i don’t THINK It’s a ghost

  11. Spook Scientist Says:

Sorry mate it’s a reflection of light.

  12. Anonymous Says:

Sorry friend, but it’s a reflection or something on, or in front of the wood… Doesn’t even have the shape of a ghost…

  13. MoonChild Says:

If you look to the right of the “ghostly figure”, you’ll see a lamp. The “ghostly figure” is a reflection of the light from that lamp on the varnished wood.

  14. Anonymous Says:

    its just a reflection

  15. DISPATCH1 Says:

YEAH, SO I THINK IT IS A GHOST JUST NOT THE BEST PICTURE OF ONE ITS NOT REFLECTION OF LIGHT IF YOU THINK ABUT IT THE REFLECTION WOULD BE BRIGHTER THAN THAT JUST LIKE THE ONE ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DOOR. NOT ONLY WOULD IT BE BRIGHTER IF IT WAS THE LIGHT BUT AROUND IT WOULD BE ALLUMINATED SO THINK ABOUT THAT FOR A MINUTE

  16. anonymous Says:

it looks like some paint was smeared or something, but not like a ghost

  17. Erkki Says:

    Just a light reflection.

  18. shavonne jade hainey Says:

i can not blevie it my sister which is 9 went and her friend called zenib said she saw a black figger in the cort room were they was actin taylor kings story she looked behind and there on a bench was a black figger spooky or what and that what u capchued was amazing ):

  19. Gerda Says:

I think its a light refelction of something I see nothing in this thats would be a ghost. If it would be one then go search in to the history of the Galleries Of Justice in Nottingham to find someething about a headless man or woman. But I think this is just light that playes a trick.

  20. Erkki Says:

Of course this is a light reflection!

  21. Anonymous Says:

I was at the Galleries when this photo was taken – I also know the guy who took the photo – it has not been altered in anyway.

If you see the actual photo he printed out you can actually see there is a clear outline of a figure – arms, legs and clothing.

There were no mannequins or others in the area photographed or in any position to be reflected.

We all considered reflection – but the actual image does not distort in anyway across the different surfaces of the layers of wood – a bit like the image is actually in front of the wall/frame rather than on it like a reflection would be.

I am to this day not sure what is in the pic – but it really does not seem right for a reflection somehow.

  24. sapp Says:

Oh and I forgot to add – I have pics of the same area – taken on the same night – and with the same lighting and no one around and I have absolutely nothing like that on any of the pictures.

I would have thought a reflection would have come out on my pics as well – and trust me I took rather a lot!!!

  25. leigh Says:

It is…I think, The relection of an opposing window on the woodwork!!! (although, I could be wrong) but I dont see a ghost…fer sure!!!

  26. Steve Says:

Oh my God, honestly? How the hell you interpret that to be a ghost I don’t know. Worst attempt at a ghost image I have ever seen, or evil will see.

  27. Person Says:

    Reflection

  28. Carla Says:

I have visited the Galleries quite a few times, as a paying visitor in the daytime, on a ghost vigil at night and as a steward at conferences held there. A very eerie place, lots of history and tall stories, I highly recommend it!

This photo seems to show some reflection rather than anything spooky. There are sorts of architectural details high on the walls and ceiling which you can’t see at this angle but which could be casting light around.

I’ve taken lots of photos there and sadly found nothing frightening. A wonderful experience though!

  29. deleted Says:

I’ve read about a lot of sightings of headless ghosts and that looks like one to be sure

  30. Anthony M. Mutti Says:

The costume is generally nice. The effect is very good. I should note that the neck and shoulders are made of a cheap, thin plastic that I’m sure will not last very long. On the positive side, the whole rig is pretty light. It would be nice if you had the option of either showing your head or not. If you don’t want to have your head show (think headless horseman) then you’ll need some sort of black gauze mask because you’ll see your face with the robe buttoned close.

  31. cun69 Says:

    I cant see anything

  32. Anonymous Says:

It is just the light or something not a ghost

  33. Stijn Maertens Says:

Waauw for the imagination here. Some reflection or dirt and you make a headless man out of it!? I don’t see a thing (except for some reflection or dirt).

  34. Matthew Says:

What a coincidence. As i am looking at this picture i have turned my tv over to Pick TV and what is being shown? Most Haunted from the exact same place as this photo was taken!
