Se não e montagem, pra mim é foto de longa exposição, ou seja, com ajuda de um tripé a camera é regulada de forma a expor a imagem por uns 10 segundos. A pessoa que está por trás sai rapidamente do enquadramento, o que dá a impressão de invisibilidade.

Eu acredito em espíritos e isto certamente nao é um. A pessoa que fotografou mexeu a maquina e como a velocidade do obturador da câmera estava baixo, pois era uma foto noturna, deu a impressão de que existem outras, mas se vc observar com atenção verá que é a mesma pessoa.

This occurred when it was shown the film, or at the time of capture (if digital camera was used).
It is only the girl’s own image, tarnished in the photo, in a tone of red or brown.

That is the result of a slow sync flash. When a picture is taken with slow sync flash, the flash is used either right after the opening of the shutter or just before it closes. As the shutter, in this kind of picture, stays open for a long time, the picture will register movement in darker condition and it will register a frozen image when the flash goes off. It’s definitely a digital camera artifact.
lots of modern digital cameras have a “night portrait” or similar mode that programs an initial flash to capture the foreground subject, and then a prolonged shutter time to capture the background.
The photographer was likely shooting in this mode hoping to capture the girl as well as the full moon/water behind her.
Unfortunately their hand was not steady, leaving the telltale tracks in lights on the opposite shore and the blurry background
The ghost girl that appears to be jutting from the girl’s back at a weird angle is from the photographer tilting the camera to the left and keeping it at that orientation long enough for the image to appear.

Não sei o que é, mas certamente não é a mulher da foto! A imagem do fundo possui cabelo, roupas, expressão totalmente diferentes da mulher da foto. Uma distorção optica deixaria a imagem mais alongada e certamente o rosto e os membros apareceriam como se fossem um rabisco vertical. Não tem como um efeito optico criar uma imagem sem estar alongada. Reperem como as sombras da roupa da imagem do fundo são diferentes das sombras da roupa da mulher. No braço esquerdo da imagem do fundo existe um traço fino que parece ser uma pulseira ou relógio. Se fosse um efeito optico o braço da imagem do fundo estaria todo da mesma cor, já que a blusa branca reflete doda a cor do flash. Não acredito exatamente em fantasma, mas acho provável que seja outro evento sobrenatural ou talvez uma montagem…

Sir William Crookes, OM , PRS (Londres, 17 de junho de 1832 – Londres, 4 de abril de 1919) foi um químico e físico inglês. Freqüentou o Royal College of Chemistry em Londres, trabalhando em espectroscopia.
Em 1861, descobriu um elemento que tinha uma linha de emissão verde brilhante no seu espectro, ao qual deu o nome de tálio, do grego thalos, um broto verde, que é o elemento químico de número atómico 81. Também identificou a primeira amostra conhecida de hélio, em 1895. Foi o inventor do radiômetro de Crookes, vendido ainda como uma novidade, e desenvolveu os tubos de Crookes, investigando os raios canal.
Em suas investigações sobre a condutividade da eletricidade em gases sob baixa pressão, descobriu que, à medida que se diminuía a pressão, o elétrodo negativo parece emitir raios (os chamados raios catódicos, que hoje se sabe tratarem-se de um feixe de elétrons livres, utilizado nos dispositivos de vídeo padrão CRT). Como esses exemplos mostram, Crookes foi um pioneiro na construção e no uso de tubos de vácuo para estudar fenômenos físicos. Foi, por conseguinte, um dos primeiros cientistas a investigar o que hoje é chamado de plasmas. Também criou um dos primeiros instrumentos para estudar a radioatividade nuclear, o assim-chamado espintariscópio.
Em 1870 Crookes decidiu que a ciência tinha a obrigação de estudar os fenômenos associados com o Espiritualismo (Crookes, 1870). A julgar por cartas de família, Crookes já tinha desenvolvido uma visão favorável ao Espiritualismo por volta de 1860 (Doyle, 1926: volume 1, 232-233). No entanto, ele estava determinado a conduzir sua investigação de forma imparcial e descreveu as condições que ele impunha aos médiuns da seguinte forma: “Deve ser na minha própria casa e com minha própria seleção de amigos e espectadores, sob minhas próprias condições e podendo eu fazer o que achar melhor quanto a dispositivos” (Doyle, 1926: volume 1, 177). Alguns dos fenômenos registrados, segundo Crookes:
“Em plena luz, vi uma nuvem luminosa pairar sobre um heliotrópio colocado em cima de uma mesa, ao nosso lado, quebrar-lhe um galho, e trazê-lo a uma senhora, e, em algumas ocasiões, percebi uma nuvem semelhante condensar-se sob nossos olhos, tomando uma forma de mão e transportar pequenos objectos”. (Opus cit. p. 40)
“Pequena mão de muito bela forma elevou-se de uma mesa da sala de jantar e deu-me uma flor; apareceu e depois desapareceu três vezes, o que me convenceu de que essa aparição era tão real quanto a minha própria mão”. (Opus cit. p. 41)
O relatório de Crookes sobre a sua pesquisa, em 1874, concluiu que esses fenômenos não podiam ser explicados como prestidigitação e que pesquisa adicional seria útil. Crookes não estava só nessa opinião. Companheiros cientistas que passaram a confirmar a veracidade da comunicação de espíritos incluiam Alfred Russel Wallace, Oliver Joseph Lodge, Lord Rayleigh, e William James (Doyle, 1926: volume 1, 62). No entanto, como a maioria dos cientistas tinha a opinião pré-concebida de que o Espiritualismo era fraudulento, o relatório final de Crookes ultrajou de tal modo o “establishement” científico de então que “falou-se de cancelar sua filiação à Royal Society (Sociedade Real)”. Crookes tornou-se mais cauteloso a partir de então e não mais discutiu seu ponto de vista em público até 1898, quando sentiu que sua posição estava segura (Doyle, 1926: volume 1, 169-170). Confirmo minhas declarações já publicadas. Na verdade, muito teria que acrescentar a isto”. (Crookes, 1898).
E numa entrevista na The International Psychic Gazette, em 1917, ele repetiu:
“Nunca tive jamais qualquer ocasião para modificar minhas ideias a respeito. Estou perfeitamente satisfeito com o que eu disse nos primeiros dias. É absolutamente verdadeiro que uma conexão foi estabelecida entre este mundo e o outro”. (Fodor, N. – Encyclopaedia of Psychic Science, U.S.A.: University Books, 1974, p.70).
Daquela data até à de sua morte, em 1919, cartas e entrevistas mostram que Crookes manteve suas considerações em relação à comunicação de espíritos.(Doyle, 1926: volume 1, 249-251).

I think this is one of my favorites. Obviously just slow shutter speed and moving camera but the effect is gorgeous.
Looks like a spirit trying to escape it’s material body. If you’re that way inclined.

its very simple, if you look to the image well, not only the part of ghost you will see some lights at the horizont , and as it appears they are like whips, not only a point of light, so obviously, the camera moved when taking photo, look well at the moonlight, it will appear that there are 2 moons too, and the trees are a little moving too

I think it’s a common picture that can be easily made during the process of film developing or made by error in the film. There might be another picture having those two red man on or under the real picture while developing the picture. It can cause confusion. Also it is possible for film to have an error. Two piece of individual pictures might be taken in one part of film. Well….there was a TV program introducing and explaining the ghost film in Korea(my country) and i think i saw a simmilar picture there.

Effect known as “flash ghosting” or “dragging the shutter”
The flash time is typically 1/1000th of a second. This has successfully lit the subject and only partly impacted on the background. The shutter however has remained opened for a period of time continuing the exposure using the ambient light. This has allowed the background which was less impacted by the flash to expose over a longer time period. Any motion encountered during this is effectively “ghosted” hence the term “flash ghosting”.
This can be quite unintentional as the camera attempts to automatically create an acceptable image in low light conditions, or the camera can be intentionally set to obtain the effect. The image contains no EXIF data so it is difficult to ascertain the exact settings used.

Yes, some sort of camera abnormality. Can’t be a triple exposure; because the three light movements on the water are identical they all occurred on the film at once. Possibly some inferior lens or wrongly applied lens coating?
What I don’t understand at all is the shadows of the tree branches, almost as if the background is a studio canvas and the trees are studio props. Shadow is correctly above the limb with flash on camera turned to a vertical position.

When you start to look carefully at the figures, you can see that they precisely mimic the clothes of the subject … it is most obvious on the subjects right hand sleeve mimicked by the left figure, and the V shape around the neck and dark area where the hair falls mimicked on the right figure. I’m sure your friend will be reassured when you point this out!

This is actually what is called a dual exposure. If you look at the picture and then the next picture, chances are you’ll see it. Stuff like this is common. I worked in a photo lab, just a standard CVS I’ve seen all from over exposure, under exposure, too much light, too little light etc…
Also if you look in the left corner there’s a dog or some sort of small animal. Hope this helps.

It’s a long exposure as when you look at the background ‘ghosts’ they have the same shirt and hold hands in their pockets. She probably shifted from one leg to the other as the photo was being taken (which would account for such a large figure being present towards the right of the photo) and the photographer probably wasn’t steady either. If you look at the small lights in the back ground, you can see trails which confirms long exposure. They probably didn’t even realise what the setting was on the camera at the time.
